The Berkshires’ Cultural and Event Calendar

Today Abbott’s Limo wants to discuss some Berkshire culture, Pittsfield’s Colonial Theater, Great Barrington’s Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Lenox’s Shakespeare & Co.; these are just three of the dozens of world-class cultural venues providing year-round events and entertainment in The Berkshires.  And while the summer months offer up the peak of activity and variety in the cultural calendar, the aforementioned three, and many others, keep the action going throughout the calendar year.

Abbott’s Limousine believes this year is no exception.  In fact, the quality bar seems to be rising each year as Berkshire County becomes a more desirable venue for performers.

For example, Shakespeare & Co., in Lenox, began a 7-week run of the play “The Learned Ladies” on Friday, February 3rd.  The classic tale by Moliere is being directed by Shakespeare & Company’s Founding Artistic Director, Tina Packer and features numerous Company veterans in the cast.  Read more on this Abbott’s Limo post.

Ideas from Abbott’s Limo for Winter in The Berkshires

Abbott’s Limousine Service is excited even when the temperatures are cooler in the winter Abbott’s knows the pulse of life remains red hot in The Berkshires which makes it one of the best and most accessible weekend getaway destinations on the eastern seaboard from the greater Washington D.C. area, the New York City metropolitan area, and Boston, to a host of other locations throughout the region.

For the time being warm weather has put a damper on our ski season but keep an eye on the forecasts because the snow is bound to come our way eventually. When it does conditions are sure to be excellent since the prominent local mountains- Ski Butternut, Otis Ridge, Catamount, Bosquet and Jiminy Peak- all have extensive snow-making systems that maintain a healthy base and add extra punch once the white stuff starts falling.

Once the snow arrives there will be fantastic opportunities for other outdoor winter activities such as snowshoeing, ice fishing, and cross-country skiing.
