Fall Foliage Beckons in The Berkshies

With fall foliage about to peak in the Berkshires nature once again beckons visitors to come and take in the best of what New England has to offer. Abbott’s Limousine offers scenic tours, winery tours, and other custom tours for your needs, wants and desires.

Typically the colors peak in middle-to-late October (in most years sometime between the 2nd and 3rd week of of the month) which makes this weekend in the Berkshires of Massachusetts the perfect time to take in the technicolor beauty in this region of the country. Abbott’s Livery & Limousine service makes it easy to travel in executive style and comfort to and from the Berkshires while taking it all in.

This year’s foliage is sporting vibrant yellows interspersed with softer reds and rich earth tones of rust, ochre, tobacco, and burnt siena.  Late day sun, in particular, lends a brilliant patina to the entire landscape making for sunsets that leave you breathless.

From Bartholomew’s Cobble in Ashley Falls, to Monument Mountain in Great Barrington, to Olivia’s Overlook in Lenox, to the peak of Mt. Greylock in Adams, to Five Corners and Cobble Hill in Williamstown Ma. there are many beautiful places to take in spectacular views of all the color.

However, the foliage isn’t the only thing worth visiting the Berkshires for at this time of year.  For starters, the county is gearing up for Halloween (read more in our blog next week for Halloween celebrations) with events centering around the remaining weeks of pumpkin season and the final harvest.

Check out the happenings at Ioka Valley Farm in Hancock Ma., and Whitney’s Farm in Cheshire Ma. where you can enjoy such family-oriented entertainment as hay rides, Giant Pumpkin patches, haunted houses, corn mazes, and more. Here are a couple of articles from past years. Halloween in the Berkshires, and Halloween at the Mount in Lenox Ma.

If cultural events is your bag, this is perfect time of year to visit the Norman Rockwell Museum in Sotckbridge, Mass MoCA in North Adams, The Clark in Williamstown, or The Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, and you can enjoy the 14th Season of the Wiliamstown Film Festival from October 17 through the 21st.

Berkshire County in Massachusetts is America’s Premier Year-Round Cultural Resort region.  Come see for yourself and let Abbott’s Livery and Limousine Service help plan your visit.  We look forward to seeing you soon.
