Abbott’s Limousine wanted to post a little bit about the Halloween happenings at the Edith Wharton Estate in Lenox. Although there is not a whole bunch of information on the website I thought this was well worth that Abbott’s Limo mention this event here.
The Mount celebrates Halloween week with readings of some of Edith Wharton’s favorite ghost stories by authors like Robert Louis Stevenson, M.R. James, Edgar Allen Poe, and others. Defiantly focused on the scary Halloween theme so these readings are not for the faint of heart, and is free with admission to the mount! Edith Wharton’s Favorite Ghost Stories will be held on October 25 through the 28th starting at 4pm.
On October 29th and 30th there will be special enhanced tours of some of the most haunted places in the estate. This should be awesome but not recommended for children 8 years of age and under. There is limited space and the tickets are $25 reservations required. On Friday the 29th there will be tours at 6pm and also at 7pm, then on Saturday the 30th the tour will be at 11pm.
Saturday night October 30th there will also be a reading and tour that starts at 6:30pm. A tour of the grounds and stables will be followed by a special spine thrilling ghost tale will be performed by Ariel Bock and Jonathon Epstine of the Berkshire Theater. Costumes will defiantly be encouraged, there is also limited space available for these event reservations are required and tickets will be $35.
